French Conference to examine Transport e-Safety

Lyon, France, November 16-18, 2002

An "e-safety" conference on IT (information technology) solutions for safety and security in intelligent transport will take place in Lyon, France, from 16 to 18 November 2002.

The event, organised by ERTICO (Intelligent Transport Systems and Services - Europe) in co-operation with ITS France, will examine new IT solutions to compensate for and cope with driver error, which remains the biggest cause of driver error.

Issues examined will include real-time traffic information, infrastructure safety, rail traffic, active safety/collision warning and public transport safety. The event will bring together representatives from public sector bodies such as national governments and public transport authorities and private sector representatives.
