Postwachstumsökonomie und nachhaltige Entwicklung – Zwei (un)vereinbare Ideen?
AbstractIn recent years, particularly since the economic and financial crisis in 2008, critical initiatives and publications towards growth have increased in numbers but also in their public visibility. These initiatives hereby very often took a critical position towards the debates and politics of sustainable development which have been going on for 30 years. In this contribution, different facets of the understanding of “postgrowth” are analysed. On the basis of the current state of debate, as well as two empirical examples, the question will be examined, how growth-critical ideas relate to sustainable development and where potential similarities might lead to a join contribution to envisioned societal transformation processes.
