This paper is based on two case studies on user involvement in the energy-efficient restoration of two cooperative owned building complexes in historic quarters of Regensburg/ Germany. Household surveys and qualitative interviews show the high acceptance of restoration measures, provided that the reduction of energy costs compensates for the increase in rents. Finally, acceptance factors such as participation, trust, social acceptability, and self-sufficiency are discussed.</p> ER -
